The Story

Sasquatch Mountain was created with Super 78 — the studio behind Wings Over Washington — together with Kraftwerk and VR Coaster. It’s Super 78’s second one-of-a-kind ride built exclusively for Miners Landing.

The premise casts you as a volunteer rather than a passenger: sent out for proof, and put through a good deal to get it. Super 78 built the media with their own Geppetto animation system, reviewing scenes in VR as the ride came together, and an animatronic Bigfoot meets you at the entrance — the last quiet moment of the expedition.

Know Before You Hunt

Ten to sixteen minutes from briefing to daylight — down a log flume, through a lost mine, and airborne under a helicopter before Bigfoot lets you go.

On the north side of Pier 57 — not the main entrance. A ten-foot Bigfoot keeps the door; he is hard to miss.

It simulates high-speed movement, sudden stops and drops, with full-body haptics and wind. Riders under 42 inches cannot board — and gentler nerves do just fine on the Carousel, $6 a ride.

It is. One pass covers the Wheel, Wings, the boat tour, the Carousel and the hunt — $99 for adults, against $116 bought separately.

Accessibility

Elevator access at the north-side entrance. Minimum height 42 inches, and the expedition is intense — sudden stops, vertical drops, strobe and fog — so the full rider requirements sit at the foot of this page.

Minimum height — 42 inches

Smaller riders cannot be safely harnessed. There is no exception to this one.

Do not ride if you

Have heart conditions or back or neck ailments, are pregnant, or are sensitive to strobe lighting or fog.

Intense motion

The ride simulates high-speed movement, sudden stops and vertical drops, with full-body vibration and haptic feedback throughout.
